The Amusing Hooker's Lips: The Most Kissable Flower

You have to admit that these "lips" would rival that of Angelina Jolie. “Kiss me, kiss me baby!" If only this sucker could ever talk. This beautiful flower that will be nice enough to kiss you with its luscious red lips.

‘But are they real? or "my eyes are again playing tricks on me," you might wonder. But hey, this kissable lips are for real! These gorgeous pair of red, luscious lips is a flower of the plant known as Psychotria elata. This weird plant is found abundantly in the tropical rain forests of Central and South American.

Psychotria elata, is also called Hot Lips Plant, Hooker’s Lips, Flower of Lips, and Flor De La bios and for the shape of its bright red bracts resembling two pouting, luscious lips. The kissable bracts remain only for a short a few days until it reveals the plant’s white flowers that will pop up from its center. The distinctive shape and color of Psychotria elata’s flowers are perfect for attracting their pollinators including hummingbirds and butterflies.

The sad part is, Psychotria elata is an endangered one due to uncontrolled deforestation. So, if you are a Nature lover and wanted to plant a kiss on a Hooker’s Lips, then do it while you still can.
